6 Advent Calendars for the Francophile

The word “Advent” is from the Latin adventus, or “coming”, and usually refers to the four weeks of preparation for Christmas—the weekly lighting of candles on a wreath at church was a big part of my childhood. Even if you’re not particularly religious, Advent calendars are a fun way for anyone to count down to Christmas Day. If you’ve never had one, a door or drawer should be opened each day to reveal a treat. There are all types of Advent calendars these days, from inexpensive candies to elaborate skincare ones. And since the Advent season doesn’t technically begin until the 30th of November, you still have some time to order one for your favorite Francophile (and maybe a couple for yourself, too).
